The Story Sisters

The Story Sisters
by Alice Hoffman
fiction
5/5
.

I really loved this book. I am not one for graphic and detailed books on violent crimes toward women and children. The harsh reality makes me ill so I try not to read it. BUT, this book was amazing! There is drug use and premarital sex within the story but its not graphic at all. I thought Alice Hoffman did a fantastic job telling a story of three sisters who make a transition from childhood innocence to real adult women. Each sister took a different path on the way to adulthood. The oldest, Elv, a rebel. Defiant and struggling to be free of her past. The middle, Meg,to grown to continue to live a make believe world they created as children and wanting her Independence and finally the youngest, Claire, the peace maker who wanted her and her sisters to stay the way they were forever. I felt very involved in the characters lives and I felt an array of emotion as I read about their lives. I cried, I shook, I held my breath and in the end I wanted to hug my own daughter. I am not a very good writer for reviews but READ this book. You will not regret it!

There are surprises throughout the book that your finger tips will leave imprints on the pages because you just don't want to let go!
